Edgeware solochain have two smart contracts environments EdgeWASM (ink!-based, substrate native) and EdgeEVM (frontier-based).

EdgeEVM implementation will not require a new node. Existing Edgeware node can be used by opening up the EVM (JSON RPC) port 9933.
